Movies

Unfortunately, I lack the vocabulary necessary to talk about cinema or works of fiction, but I do want to share a couple of movies I watched recently and absolutely loved.

The Proposition

The proposition is a fantastic western. I always thought westerns were all about John Wayne and hokey stories and lines. This one is not that at all. The characters are wonderful and complex, and the movie itself is art.

Black Snake Moan

This is a very cool (maybe sexy—or maybe I’m just a freak) movie. The characters are all endearing, and the ending is really satisfying although maybe a little too hopeful.

I’m sure you can tell I am dreadfully ignorant when it comes to talking about movies. If anyone knows of any resources which might teach me what to look for and how to convey what I like about a movie, I would love it if you would post those resources in the comments.
